The Global Access Fund
MIAWS reserves a portion of every cohort for support recipients through the Global Access Fund — a financial aid program designed to ensure that geography and income do not determine who gets to shape the future of AI in architecture.
The first cohort (Q4 2026) will offer a limited number of full and partial support to exceptional candidates who demonstrate both professional merit and financial need.

Full coverage of the MIAWS program fee (€5,300–€8,000 value) for outstanding candidates from underrepresented regions. Selection is based on a combination of:
- Demonstrated financial need
- Exceptional professional portfolio or academic record
- Geographic region (priority: Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, Southeast Asia)
- Clear articulation of how MIAWS will impact their practice or research
Number of places: limited. Apply early.
partial support — 50% Tuition Reduction
A 50% reduction on the program fee for candidates who demonstrate financial need alongside strong professional credentials. Open to all nationalities.

Early Admission Discount
Candidates admitted in the first application window receive a 10% early admission discount automatically. This stacks with partial support but not full support.
Who We Prioritise
The Global Access Fund was created because spatial AI will transform every built environment — not just the ones in wealthy countries. Architectural intelligence needs voices from Lagos, Bogotá, Nairobi, Jakarta, Cairo, and Medellín as much as from London or Barcelona.
Current priority regions for full support consideration:
- Sub-Saharan Africa — architects and engineers working on rapid urbanisation, housing, and infrastructure
- Latin America — Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Argentina, Chile, Ecuador
- Southeast Asia — Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines, Thailand
- MENA — Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Tunisia
Candidates from all other regions may apply for partial support based on financial need.
How to Apply for a support
support applications are integrated with the admissions process. There is no separate support form — you indicate your interest in financial aid when you apply to the program.

- If applying for a full support: include a 500-word essay on how MIAWS fits your practice

Any architect, engineer, or AEC professional admitted to the MIAWS program can apply for financial aid. The Global Access Fund prioritises candidates from Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia, but all nationalities are eligible.

Can I combine a support with employer funding?
Yes. MIAWS can issue invoices to employers or professional development funds. A partial support from MIAWS can be combined with employer reimbursement, professional development grants, or government training funds.
