Lucía Martín de Aguilera

Lucía is an Architect (MArch, ETSAM) and software developer with 5+ years of experience in applied Research, Development and Innovation within the building sector. Her work operates at the intersection of architecture, sustainability and software, with a focus on digitalization, BIM workflows, interoperability and data-driven processes. She has contributed to national and international projects related to energy renovation, lifecycle assessment, industrialized construction and smart building technologies.

With experience across startups, research organizations and multidisciplinary teams, she develops digital tools, automation systems and computational workflows for the management and visualization of building information. Alongside technical development, she has coordinated R&D initiatives, contributed to grant-funded innovation projects and led internal training in BIM and computational design. Her practice is informed by a hybrid approach that combines architectural thinking, research and software development.

At MIAWS she teaches in Module F1 (Fundamentals — foundational AI concepts and workflows for architects, establishing the methodological rigour that all subsequent modules build on) and co-teaches Module F4 (AI Prototyping — generative parametric systems, AI-driven form exploration, and the iterative testing cycles that close the gap between concept and buildable proposal).
