Leticia Izquierdo García

Leticia Izquierdo is an architect and media designer, currently a doctoral researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her work focuses on developing generative and immersive tools that integrate urban data, simulation, and human experience — including Immersive Scope — deployed across a network of cities spanning from San Francisco to Mexico City. She also teaches at MIT, where she leads courses on City Modelling and Participatory Design, guiding students from sensor networks and data collection through to urban simulation and spatial storytelling.

Prior to MIT, she collaborated with EIT Climate-KIC on new mobility simulations for cities in energy transition, and with the UNESCO-UN Women Chair on participatory methodologies for women's safety in public space. She served as Head of Design at La Complice, where she led the use of generative AI to transform product photography workflows in fashion. Her research appears in publications including Nature Cities and ACM DIS, with exhibitions at the Venice Biennale and the Boston Museum of Science.

At MIAWS she serves as Module Coordinator for F2 (AI Territory — applying AI to territorial analysis, site reading, geospatial data, and urban intelligence at multiple scales).
