José Ignacio Kempff Seleme

José Ignacio Kempff Seleme is an architect and computational design specialist. While getting his BSc in Foundations of Architecture at the Madrid School of Architecture (ETSAM) within the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, he complemented his education at the Technische Universität München. After getting his M.Arch at ETSAM, José Ignacio was awarded a postgraduate degree in BIM from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. He completed an MSc in Architectural Computation at the Bartlett School of Architecture (UCL) in London.

José Ignacio explores the boundaries of architecture and urbanism in the American and European context across history, theory and practice, identifying and analysing their interrelationships, with a particular focus on computational methodologies and new digital instruments. He focuses on computational design tools for the built environment at multiple scales, as both method and application.
