John Porral

John Porral is an architect by the Universidad San Pablo CEU and a self-taught computer programmer. In his practice he has specialised in residential and prefabricated/modular construction. He has worked at 3DReid and Rogers, Stirk, Harbour and Partners in London, and at Skrein Studios in Madrid. At present he is a Senior Architect at HBA in Madrid.

In parallel, his interest in computation led him to launch Script Studio, a research lab for the development of automation tools for architects. Script Studio is currently working on a generative space planning tool for the automation of residential layouts in the initial stages of design. That work has been exhibited as an interactive prototype, the Bedroom Script, at the Venice Biennale of Architecture (2021) and at Mugak, the Basque Biennale of Architecture (2025).

He has been invited as a guest lecturer at multiple institutions, including Urbanbat Fest (2022), Universidad San Pablo CEU (2021), Universidad de Navarra (2022), Miautics Lab (2023) and IE Segovia (2024). More recently he has lectured on AI for architects at BAI in Granada (2026).

At MIAWS he is Module Coordinator for F9 (AI Integration).
