Iago Romero Ogando

Iago Romero Ogando is a serial AI entrepreneur and one of the most experienced applied AI practitioners to emerge from the Spanish technology ecosystem. He is currently Co-Founder of BRISA AI (February 2025 – present), a company accelerating the decarbonisation of complex environments — cities, infrastructure, industry, and housing stock — through a proprietary foundational model for multivariate time series. BRISA AI predicts consumption patterns, optimises energy efficiency, and simulates CO₂ reduction strategies without requiring technical expertise from the decision-maker.

Before BRISA AI, he was Director de Producto at Savana (September 2020 – March 2025), a medical AI company serving hospitals, where he launched a product suite that transformed Savana's market positioning — enabling the company to transition from serving almost exclusively the pharma industry to developing products that hospitals actively sought to adopt.

Prior to Savana, he co-founded Urban Data Eye as CTO and CPO (from 2018 to February 2025) — an AI/ML company analysing the physical movement of people in large spaces using convolutional neural networks for data extraction plus traditional ML for analysis. UDE served clients including Airbus, KPMG, and the cities of Rotterdam and Pittsburgh. The company was selected for the Arcadis City of 2030 Accelerator powered by Techstars (one of ten startups chosen from over 400 applicants, 2019); and won the Merlin Properties PropTech Challenge and the CBRE PropTech Challenge (II edition).

He was Head of AI and Co-Founder of MIAUTICS from July 2015 to February 2025 (nearly a decade), building the computational intelligence layer of one of Spain's leading AEC digital practices. He also served as Head of Artificial Intelligence at Ingreen Innovación (February 2020 – June 2024), advising on AI, data models, and process optimisation for clients including Acciona Energía.
