Federico del Blanco García

Federico del Blanco García is an architect and AI design researcher at MIAWS. His practice sits at the intersection of computational design methods and the evolving role of artificial intelligence in architectural production — investigating how AI tools transform not just the speed of design, but its underlying logic and spatial intelligence.

Federico trained as an architect in Spain and has developed a practice focused on generative systems, AI-augmented workflows, and the critical discourse around machine intelligence in the built environment. He brings to MIAWS a perspective rooted in built practice: how AI changes the daily decisions architects make, the questions they ask, and the spaces they produce.

At MIAWS he contributes to the program's exploration of AI-native design practice — joining a faculty of practitioners and researchers who believe the most important thing about AI in architecture is not the output but the shift in thinking it demands.
