Alejandro Fuentes Arias

Building Simulation Specialist · AI-Augmented Performance Design

Alejandro Fuentes Arias is a building simulation specialist working at the intersection of computational engineering and applied artificial intelligence. His expertise covers the full spectrum of building performance analysis — energy consumption, daylight quality, thermal comfort, structural behaviour, and environmental impact — with a particular focus on how AI can automate the interpretation of simulation results and feed them back directly into design decisions.

His practice is grounded in the conviction that simulation should not be a final-stage validation check but an active design driver. By integrating AI into the simulation loop, he helps architects run hundreds of performance variants quickly, identify the critical trade-offs early, and make evidence-based design decisions without waiting for specialist reports.

At MIAWS he teaches in Module F5 (AI Simulation — building performance simulation, energy analysis, daylight and structural modelling, AI-automated result interpretation, and the workflows that connect simulation outputs to design and fabrication decisions).
